Or do they form a statement that is ideally suited to strengthen and unify them in their faith?

Robert Langmaid argues that the latter is the case. He believes that the articles, which were written by English Reformers in 1533 and put in their current revised form in 1662, provide fertile ground for the growth of churches and believers in the Communion. Furthermore, he writes, the articles not only can inform individual and corporate discussions concerning Anglican identity, but can also serve as a basis of spiritual meditation.

How is it that the articles can do all this? Because the Reformers and the English church were careful to ground them securely in the Bible and in the first four general councils of the Christian church and the three ecumenical statements of belief (the Nicene, Apostles', and Athanasian creeds). In fact, Langmaid argues, a new consideration of the articles will call Anglicans to renew their historical allegiance to the Bible and the Lordship of Christ and thereby provide the backdrop for greater and more effective diversity throughout the Anglican Communion.

Besides taking the reader through forty days of meditating on the articles, this valuable contribution to Anglican and ecumenical thought includes two essays on the Articles of Religion and Anglican identity and a version of the articles in modern English by Peter Toon.",

"description": "Through prayer, very young children can learn to talk with God and to build their faith and trust in him in the greatest and hardest of times. In Introducing Children to Prayer, author Luis M. Benavides, explores this belief. By walking catechists and families through the process, he helps them to get to know God and to communicate with the God who loves them. Furthermore, Benavides helps us to reexamine our own attitudes about prayer, as he offers a different perspective to help children begin the journey and deepen their relationship with God.",

Anderson writes that, each of [Pauls letters] addresses particular issues and arguments within the community to whom he was writing. Although he never preached in Rome, yet converted many in Galatia, he had much of the same message in both letters. \nThe primary issue that is addressed by Paul in his letters is how to assimilate the Old and New covenants -- the communities as a mixture of Jews and Gentiles were beginning to live their Christian faith together. As their traditions and newfound teachings would clash, arguments would arise.\nPaul's letters were written with love and concern for the communities to which he sent them. And as these conflicts would arise, his letters helped these communities to work through divisions and act lovingly towards one another.",

"description": "This 365-day devotional assists couples to prioritize prayer together. By combining a passage from Scripture with a pertinent, heartfelt prayer, and thought-provoking reflection, it will give couples prayers they can say together on relevant topics. These themes bring focus and over time, will allow couples to develop stronger bonds with each other. The cliche is true: couples who pray together, stay together. \nTo Have and To Hold benefits those who are struggling as well as those enthusiastic about keeping their marriage sacred and strong, with the awareness that all marriages have struggles. Most relationships have cyclical peaks and valleys. This devotional integrates suggestions that the author has acquired through The Third Option program, one that assists couples at strengthening their marriage. ",
