"name": "Life Together in the Spirit",
"subtitle": "A Radical Spirituality for the Twenty-First Century",
"description": "In this fresh approach to Christian spirituality, John Driver shows that the spirituality of the disciples and the early Christian church included every dimension of life. Grounded in the example of Jesus himself, this holistic approach to spirituality finds expression in the visible witness of the Christian community, and in the daily lives of faithful Christians who seek to embody Christs presence in the world in service to others. This approach to Christian spirituality was recovered in a remarkable way by the radical reformers of the sixteenth century the Anabaptists and it continues to find expression among a wide variety of Christian groups around the world today. Life Together in the Spirit will inspire, challenge, and encourage you to experience the presence of the Spirit in all of its dimensions.

This edition, revised and expanded with responses and reflections from church leaders and scholars around the world, is the seventh publication in the Global Anabaptist-Mennonite Shelf of Literature, an initiative of Mennonite World Conference. Contributors include Mvwala C. Katshinga (Democratic Republic of Congo), Christina Asheervadam (India), Rafael Zaracho (Paraguay), Hermann Woelke (Uruguay), Paulus Pan (Taiwan), Patricia Uruena (Colombia), and Nellie Mlotshwa (Zimbabwe).",

However, the \"Spicy\" magazines -- Spicy-Adventure Stories, Spicy Mystery, Spicy Western, etc. -- were politically incorrect by their own contemporary standards as well. If you find such things offensive, this is definitely not the right MEGAPACKTM for you. But if you enjoy the occasional stroll down the back alleys of pulp publishing, here's a walk on the seamy side of the 1930s! Included are:
\n\nTHE SHANGHAI JESTER, by Robert Leslie Bellem\nBLACK MURDER, by Carl Moore \nSUEZ SOUVENIR, by Jerome Hyams\nTHE HOUSE OF WEIRD SLEEP, by Charles R. He won three Academy Awards and became a national icon starring as Grandpa in The Real McCoys. He appeared in over two hundred motion pictures and became the subject of a Norman Rockwell painting, which celebrated the actor's unique role as the voice of the American Western. His life journey from Swampscott, Massachusetts, to Hollywood, to a twelve thousand-acre cattle ranch in Joseph, Oregon, is one of the great American stories.

In the first biography of this epic figure, Carl Rollyson reveals Brennan's consummate mastery of virtually every kind of role while playing against and often stealing scenes from such stars as Gary Cooper, Humphrey Bogart, and John Wayne. Rollyson fully explores Brennan's work with Hollywood's greatest directors, such as Howard Hawks, John Ford, and Fritz Lang. As a father and grandfather, Brennan instilled generations of his family with an outlook on the American Dream that remains a sustaining feature of their lives today. His conservative politics, which grew out of his New England upbringing and his devout Catholicism, receive meticulous attention and a balanced assessment in A Real American Character.

Written with the full cooperation of the Brennan family and drawing on material in archives from every region of the United States, this new biography presents an artist and family man who lived and breathed an American idealism that made him the Real McCoy.",

What did the author of Genesis intend and how can we possibly know, or is the important thing only what the Bible means to you? In this book, Dr. Jason Lisle answers questions such as:
What are the most common mistakes people make in trying to understand Genesis? What are the necessary rules of biblical interpretation, and what is the proper role of science in understanding the Bible? How does one identify the various types of biblical literature, and how do the rules of interpretation handle each type poetic, prophetic, historical, etc.?
Is there one correct interpretation of the Bible, or are there many? Discover why alternative positions are rationally impossible. Unlock a powerful understanding of Gods Word and equip yourself with a reasoned defense against those who distort the Word of God.
",

One useful way to examine this principle is to look at how the subject has been treated in various media in the premodern, modern, and postmodern eras. Silvio Gaggi pursues this strategy in From Text to Hypertext, analyzing the issue of subject construction and deconstruction in selected examples of visual art, literature, film, and electronic media. Gaggi concentrates on a few paradigmatic works in each chapter; he contrasts van Eyck's Wedding of Arnolfini with the photography of Cindy Sherman and Barbara Kruger; examines fiction that centers on an elusive subject in works by Conrad, Faulkner, and Calvino; and explores the ability of such films as Coppola's One from the Heart and Altman's The Player to emancipate the subject through cinematography and editing.

In considering electronic media, Gaggi takes his argument to an entirely new level. He focuses on computer-controlled media, specifically examples of hypertextual fiction by Michael Joyce and Stuart Moulthrop. Besides recognizing how the computer has enabled artists to create works of fiction in which readers themselves become decentered, Gaggi also observes the impact of literature created on computer networks, where even the limitations of CD-ROM are lifted and the notion of individual authorship may for all practical purposes be lost.
",
