Die Analyse erfolgt auf drei Ebenen und nimmt neben der gesamten Serie auch exemplarisch ausgewahlte Bande in den Blick, deren Organisation eingehend beschrieben wird. Schlielich werden einzelne, wiederkehrende Erzahlmuster Bausteine der Serienproduktion uber den Roman hinweg beobachtet. Trotz starker Abweichungen von den polnischen Geschichtsbildern erlebten die Reisenden eine Thematisierung der Vergangenheit im Kontakt mit der polnischen Bevolkerung zumeist als unproblematisch, ja versohnend; abweichende Geschichtsinterpretationen wurden von ihnen ubersehen.
