                "subtitle": "",
                "description": "Same-sex marriage is here. So what do pastors and church leaders do now? Churches are now faced with ministry dilemmas unknown to any previous generation. Hoping the problem goes away isnt a reasonable strategy. Christians must answer difficult questions about ministering both to couples in same-sex marriages and all the people impacted by those unions. Jeff Iorg, a seminary president and experienced pastor, has assembled some of the leading voices on a range of topics from childrens ministry to preaching to legal issues in the new marriage culture. Readers will be equipped, perhaps for the first time, with practical answers to some of these complex questions.",

Peace, in fact, is a part of the package deal of the Catholic faith, because the Lord Jesus himself is our peace. In one hundred short meditations, author Heidi Bratton leads women to consider how they can live out the peace that Christ promises: in their homes, finances, jobs, parishes, and in their relationships with their spouses, families, and children. Her real-life examples show us that peace can be lived in difficult and challenging circumstances. Each meditation ends with a heartfelt prayer. Even when our faith is strong, we can struggle with staying peaceful. This book is a constant reminder that peace is a gift from God, something that we can ask for and receive every day of our lives.",

This collection of papers, by contributors in the USA, Israel, Australia and South Africa, reveal how his works yield creative and generative possibilities with profound clinical and cultural implications. Writers include well-known authors such as Mark Epstein, Anthony Molino and Brent Potter.The papers are divided into three sections: Reflections (psychoanalytic and philosophical concerns, such as Heidegger, the Hindu Goddess Kali, Buddhism, the sense of Time); Refractions (clinical implications, papers on murder and aliveness, the nature of the analytic interaction, addiction and work with the mother-infant relationship), and Responses (personal impacts of his works, as well as poetry and the thoughts of a creative writer on Eigen's oeuvre). There are also papers on the experience of supervision with Michael Eigen as well as on his weekly seminars on Bion, Winnicott and Lacan, ongoing for more than forty years, in New York. The book is a long-overdue celebration of and homage to a creative and unique figure in contemporary psychoanalysis.With a Foreword by Dr James Grotstein, and a complete bibliography of Michael Eigen's writings compiled by Loray Daws.",

                "description": " A behind-the-scenes look at a hospital for severely injured turtles. Turtles have been around for 220 million years -- longer than dinosaurs. But now their time might be running out. Of the roughly 300 species worldwide, more than half are threatened with extinction. Freshwater, marine and land turtles are all affected. And their biggest threat is us! As the human race grows and expands on the planet, turtles are losing their homes, suffering the effects of pollution, the pet and food trade, killed by cars as they try to cross roads, and snared in fishing nets or by fish hooks meant to catch other species. Fortunately, a community of scientists, environmentalists and volunteers around the world are helping to protect and save turtles. The author, Sue Carstairs, is a veterinarian at a turtle rescue and rehabilitation center. She reveals how she repairs shattered shells, broken jaws, and injured\n skulls, and nurses severely injured turtles back to health for release into the wild. Carstairs also explains how turtle eggs are harvested from injured mothers, incubated, raised in tanks and released into the wild. Organizations around the world performing similar work with land and sea turtles are also profiled. What can readers do to help the worldwide effort to save and protect turtles? Two examples from the many offered in the book: participate in World Turtle Day, on May 23rd every year, sponsored by American Tortoise Rescue, and lobby for \"turtle crossing\" signs in nesting areas. "subtitle": "The Shocking Facts About How Much Water We Use to Make Everyday Products",
                "description": "The average American lifestyle is kept afloat by about 2,000 gallons of H2O a day. The numbers are shocking. Your Water Footprint reveals the true cost of our lifestyle. A \"water footprint\" is the amount of fresh water used to produce the goods and services we consume, including growing, harvesting, packaging, and shipping. From the foods we eat to the clothes we wear to the books we read and the music we listen to, all of it costs more than what we pay at the check-out. The 125 footprint facts in this book show the true cost of our lifestyle and what it is doing to Earth, including draining it dry. The \"Virtual Water Concept\" shows the amount of water used in human activities. Presented in clever, understandable graphics, Your Water Footprint raises readers' awareness of how much water is used to make the things we use, consume and grow.\n What we put on our dinner table has a very high cost. Nearly 95 percent of our water footprint is hidden in the food we eat: One pound of lettuce costs 15 gallons of freshwater; mango 190 gallons; avocado 220 gallons; tofu 244 gallons; rice 403 gallons; olives 522 gallons; pork 1,630 gallons; butter 2,044 gallons; chocolate 2,847 gallons; and beef 2,500 to 5,000 gallons. A slice of bread costs 10 gallons but if you eat it with a slice of cheese, it takes another 13 gallons. One glass of beer takes 20 gallons of water, and just one standard cup of tea costs 120 same-sized cups of water. A cotton t-shirt takes almost as much water as beef, a pair of jeans even more. In fact, all aspects of our daily lives require water in some way, shape or form. The saying that \"nothing is free\" applies more to water than anything else we consume,\n considering just three percent of the world's water is drinkable and that we are using more of it than ever before. Factor in climate change, population growth and pollution and we have an unsustainable situation. Many experts predict dire water shortages if we continue on our current path. Your Water Footprint is riveting. Consumers of all ages will be stunned by what it reveals. It is an excellent reference and an exciting way to introduce the resource-consumption equation to students.",

The most revealing and illuminating of these are brought together in this collection.<br><br>Here, Kopple explains her near-constant struggles to raise money (usually while her films are already in production) and the hardships arising from throwing her own money into such projects. She makes clear the tensions between biases, objectivity, and fairness in her films. Her interviewers raise fundamental questions. What is the relationship between real people in documentaries and characters in fictional films? Why does she embrace a cinema verite style in some films but not others? Why does she seem to support gun ownership in Harlan County, U.S.A., only to take a decidedly more neutral view of the issue in her film Gun Fight?<br><br>Kopple's concern for people facing crises is undeniable. So is the affection she has for her more famous subjects--Woody Allen playing a series of European jazz concerts, Gregory Peck on tour, and the Dixie Chicks losing a fan base but making a fresh start.",

Hadley, Christopher T. Hays, Edward R. Henry, Cliff Jenkins, Jay K. Johnson, Evan Peacock, Janet Rafferty, Maria Schleidt, Mary Evelyn Starr, James B. Stoltman, Andrew M. Triplett, Melissa H. Twaroski, and Richard A. Weinstein <br><br>This volume includes original scholarship on a wide array of archaeological research across the South. One essay explores the effects of climate on early cultures in Mississippi. Contributors reveal the production and distribution of stone effigy beads, which were centered in southwest Mississippi some 5,000 years ago, and trace contact between different parts of the prehistoric Southeast as seen in the distribution of clay cooking balls. Researchers explore small, enigmatic sites in the hill country of northern Mississippi now marked by scatters of broken pottery and a large, seemingly isolated \"platform\" mound in Calhoun County. Pieces describe a mound group in Chickasaw County built by early agriculturalists who subsequently abandoned the area and a similar prehistoric abandonment event in Winston and Choctaw Counties. A large pottery collection from the famous Anna Mounds site in Adams County, excavations at a Chickasaw Indian site in Lee County, camps and works of the Civilian Conservation Corps in the pine hill country of southern Mississippi, and the history of logging in the Mississippi Delta all yield abundant, new understandings of the past. <br><br>Overview papers include a retrospective on archaeology in the National Forests of north Mississippi, a look at a number of mound sites in the lower Mississippi Delta, and a study of how communities of learning in field archaeology are built, with prominent archaeologist Samuel O. Brookes's achievements as a focal point. History buffs, artifact enthusiasts, students, and professionals all will find something of interest in this book, which opens doors on the prehistory and history of Mississippi.",

                "description": "The First Mystery Novel MEGAPACKTM presents four classic mysteries by top crime writers. Here are:\nThe Red Bishop, by Howard Mason ... A wild chase through Europe...a castle on the Rhine...some very fancy corpses...a racing columnist who suddenly finds himself a Peer of the Realm... These are the unlikely ingredients that make this book at once hair-raising and light-hearted!\nReclining Figure, by Marco Page ... Lucas Edgerton, arbitary and capricious eccentric, brings in Ellis Blaise, a young New York art dealer, to sell some of his art collection for tax purposes. Thefts from the collection, the sensational forgery of a priceless Renoir, and the puzzling murder of Lucas's son force Blaise into a perilous investigation!\nThe Case of the 16 Beans, by Harry Stephen Keeler ... Why did old Balhatchet Barkstone, on dying, leave his nephew 16 beans? And why did Boyce Barkstone, his heir, hold on to the beans? Why did Hu Fong, a Chinese detective, come to the conclusion that a poverty-stricken hermit was murdered for an article of great value, and what might that article be? These are only a few of the seemingly insoluble riddles which Keeler answers in his own inimitable manner!\nThe Girl Who Had to Die, by By Elisabeth Sanxay Holding ... 19-year-old Jocelyn is convinced she's going to be murdered, and accuses John Killian, a young man she met on a cruise ship, of throwing her overboard. But there are a lot of people who seem to hate Jocelyn...and Killian starts to wonder if he'll be the next victim instead!\nIf you enjoy this ebook, don't forget to search your favorite ebook store for \"Wildside Press Megapack\" to see more of the 250+ volumes in this series, covering adventure, historical fiction, mysteries, westerns, ghost stories, science fiction -- and much, much more!",

                "description": "<p>Our lawns take a beating during the cold winter months, especially in New England. Without attention, the deterioration of the lawn continues on in the spring. After several seasons, the lawn begins to get sparse, patches of dirt appear and weeds start overtaking the grass. The solution is to overseed, to spread new grass seed over the existing tired and sparse blades of grass. The result is a thick and revitalized lawn. In a similar fashion, many historic churches across America, especially in New England, are deteriorating because the seed of the gospel is not being preached. The way forward is to \"Overseed,\" to recruit and equip godly pastors to serve in these pulpits and to once again sow the seed of the gospel in these churches. Overseeding a church begins with wise godly leadership from a gospel centric pastor. Nehemiah gives us a great example and leadership principles of how to lead a local community through the difficult process of renewal to once again become a thriving community.</p>",

                "description": "<p>Orphaned at four, growing up at a time when the stigma of illegitimacy was lifelong, divorce scandalous, and cruelty in the home left to take its course, my mother confessed her shameful origins to her children only when she was in her sixties. She died without knowing who her father was. But a subsequent chance meeting in her birthplace Broken Hill revealed more to her family than she ever knew. Despite hardship and tragedy, Mim lngleton had the resilience, energy, intelligence and love to raise three children, organise South Australias first community kindergarten, support Adelaides early initiatives for young people with disabilities, and mentor international students. This is her story.</p>\n\n<p>Christine lngletons professional career (BA, DipEd, BEd, MEd) focused on teaching and learning with high school students, community groups, adult literacy, university students, professional groups, academic staff, and evaluation. Her three children, four grandchildren, tennis, golf, travel, music and reading continually enrich her life.</p>",
