"description": "Reflecting the latest research from the field, CASEBOOK IN CHILD BEHAVIOR DISORDERS, 6th Edition vividly illustrates the rich and arresting nature of disorders that first manifest themselves in childhood while also showing how a child's developmental patterns shape the expression of each disorder. Complex cases demonstrate how each disorder is expressed -- from presentation through diagnosis and treatment. Throughout the book, the author explores the DSM-5 criteria and highlights the interaction between developmental and environmental influences for each disorder. The Sixth Edition's wealth of cases includes unique mixed cases, giving you the opportunity to draw from your knowledge to come up with a diagnosis.",

"description": "Understand where you fit to understand where you'll excel Fit: When Talent and Intelligence Just Won't Cut It answers the fundamental performance questions that people have asked for generations. Why is that some individuals are consistently high performers, how do they keep performing in varying situations, organisations and contexts, why can some people just not seem to be able to crack that code, and why do some individuals perform exceptionally well in certain organisations but not in others? This fresh new book challenges current thinking about the war for talent and the role intelligence plays in high performance sport and business. Over 3,000 profiles of elite corporate managers and professional elites have been studied to find the answers as to why certain individuals consistently get exceptional results and why great talent doesn't transfer across teams and businesses. Fit considers real live cases and well-known examples of spectacular successes and failures through the lens of the Hogan Personality Tools. This shows how elite performance is dependent on three things; understanding what role your behaviours are best suited to, what culture you perform your best in and how you're likely to derail your career. Armed with this knowledge, this innovative text allows you to connect the dots on your past performances and prepares you to find roles, organisations and teams which best fit you - opening the door for elite performance. Instead of talent management and changing behaviour, look to Fit as a key to your performance improvement. You'll find that performance does not have a one-size-fits-all formula - it is bespoke, personal and different for each individual. Understand how you can align your natural style with the right roles to achieve elite performance in your professional and personal lives Appreciate your unique behavioural patterns that impact personal and team success Discover that true success is not totally dependent on talent and intelligence, but on discovering what you're good at and where you fit. Fit: When Talent and Intelligence Just Won't Cut It unearths the hidden traits of elite performance and enables you to find your fit to further enhance your engagement and success.",

"description": "This monograph explores the different types of clausal relations in the worlds languages. In the recent literature, there have been claims that the strict dichotomy of subordination and coordination cannot be maintained since some constructions seem to be in between these two categories. This study investigates these constructions in detail. The first part is concerned with clause chaining constructions, while the second is concerned with different cases of asymmetric coordination in English. In both parts, it is shown that the different tests to distinguish clausal relations indeed yield different results for the specific constructions. This poses a severe challenge for the established theories of clausal relations. However, as it is argued, recent analyses of coordination provide for the possibility to map a subordinate structure onto a coordinate one by means of regular transformational rules. It is shown that a single movement step derives all the peculiar properties of the phenomena in question. This book thus provides the first comprehensive solution for a long-standing problem in theoretical syntax.",

"description": "This book contains a new edition and English translation of the oldest commentary on Aristotle written in Arabic and preserved to this day, together with an extensive commentary. It is a compendium on the treatise De generatione et corruptione, written by the Imamite theologian and heresiographer Hasan b. Musa al-Nawbakhti (fl. ca. 900). To this day, apart from the title of more than forty works and numerous fragments-taken mainly from his magnum opus, the Book of the Doctrines and Religions (Kitab al-ara wa-al-diyanat)-only a single treatise of his, the Book of Shii Sects (Kitab firaq al-shia), was known to us. The text sheds new light in several ways: firstly, on the the Arabic philosophical tradition, since it was composed during the obscure period between al-Kindi and al-Farabi (roughly, the 2nd half of the 9th c.); secondly, on the Greek tradition, since the author makes extensive use of Alexanders lost commentary on De generatione; thirdly, on the formative period of shiism, since it helps us to reconstruct how the author borrowed from the Aristotelian tradition the tools necessary to build up a new anthropology compatible with the doctrine of the Occultation which he inaugurated at the time.",
