"description": "<p>Freemium Economics presents a practical, instructive approach to successfully implementing the freemium model into your software products by building analytics into product design from the earliest stages of development. </p> <p>Your freemium product generates vast volumes of data, but using that data to maximize conversion, boost retention, and deliver revenue can be challenging if you don't fully understand the impact that small changes can have on revenue. In this book, author Eric Seufert provides clear guidelines for using data and analytics through all stages of development to optimize your implementation of the freemium model. Freemium Economics de-mystifies the freemium model through an exploration of its core, data-oriented tenets, so that you can apply it methodically rather than hoping that conversion and revenue will naturally follow product launch.</p> Learn how to apply data science and big data principles in freemium product design and development to maximize conversion, boost retention, and deliver revenue Gain a broad introduction to the conceptual economic pillars of freemium and a complete understanding of the unique approaches needed to acquire users and convert them from free to paying customers Get practical tips and analytical guidance to successfully implement the freemium model Understand the metrics and infrastructure required to measure the success of a freemium product and improve it post-launch Includes a detailed explanation of the lifetime customer value (LCV) calculation and step-by-step instructions for implementing key performance indicators in a simple, universally-accessible tool like Excel",

"description": "Database: Principles Programming Performance provides an introduction to the fundamental principles of database systems. This book focuses on database programming and the relationships between principles, programming, and performance. Organized into 10 chapters, this book begins with an overview of database design principles and presents a comprehensive introduction to the concepts used by a DBA. This text then provides grounding in many abstract concepts of the relational model. Other chapters introduce SQL, describing its capabilities and covering the statements and functions of the programming language. This book provides as well an introduction to Embedded SQL and Dynamic SQL that is sufficiently detailed to enable students to immediately start writing database programs. The final chapter deals with some of the motivations for database systems spanning multiple CPUs, including client-server and distributed transactions. This book is a valuable resource for database administrators, application programmers, specialist users, and end users.",

"description": "Technical Aspects of Data Communication, Third Edition provides information pertinent to the technical aspects of data communication. This book discusses a simple asynchronous interface implemented with a specialized integrated circuit called a UART. Organized into 28 chapters, this edition begins with an overview of the interface standards ranging from the classic EIA-232-D to the EIA-530. This text then describes modems and modem control, with material on high-speed modems and error-correcting modems. Other chapters discuss hardware and software methods. This book discusses as well digital transmission systems and the Integrated Service Digital Network (ISDN). The final chapter deals with local area networks (LANs) and shows how data communication is the key to information and resources sharing in modern networks of personal computers and work stations. This book is intended to be suitable for readers who are about to design a data communication system, are about to purchase a program data communication hardware, or are just interested in learning more about data communication.",

This book is organized into four sections encompassing 25 chapters that discuss the pathology of albuminuria, dropsy, uremia, and polyuria. Some of the topics covered in the book are the clinical examination of the urine; etiology, morbid anatomy, and clinical history of diabetes; treatment of diabetes insipidus; analysis of diabetic coma; development of stone in the kidney; congestions of the kidney; pathological relations of tube casts; and cardio-vascular changes in dropsy patient. Other sections are concerned with the complications of chronic Brights disease, infective, and lithemic nephritis. This discussion then shifts to the amaurosis, or defect of the eye after developing dropsy, as well as the treatment of Brights disease. The remaining sections deal with the physiology of glycosuria, hydronephrosis, pyonephrosis, and pyelitis. These chapters also focus on the diseases that cause the presence of blood in the urine. The book can provide useful information to doctors, nephrologists, students, and researchers.",

This book discusses Alpha single-board computers, which have been introduced to cover the high-end embedded controller market. Organized into five parts, this edition begins with an overview of the instruction-set architecture. This text then describes the supporting PALcode routines for three operating systems. Other parts consider a particular console implementation that is specific to platforms that support the OpenVMS AXP or DEC OSF/1 operating systems. This book discusses as well the specific operating system PALcode architecture. The final part provides a discussion of console issues for Windows NT with its PALcode description. This book is a valuable resource for machine-language programmers.",

"description": "Heredity and Environment in the Functional Psychoses involves an epidemiological clinical study of twins carried out at the University Psychiatric Institute in Oslo. The author reviews the history and nosological aspects of psychiatry. In his study of twin genetics, the author seeks to answer the questions \"What is inherited?\" and \"How is it inherited?\" In his review of 342 pairs of twins in the Central Register of Psychosis, his study had the following aims: to obtain true concordance figures for all types of functional psychoses; to study problems pertaining to nosology; and to study a larger sample of discordant pairs in order to clarify crucial environmental factors. His findings show that concordance figures for schizophrenia are 25-38 per cent in monozygotic twins and 4-10 per cent ion dizygotic twins. He points out that the difference in such concordance rates between the two types of twins is statistically significant. The data supports the (weak) assumption of a genetic factor in the etiology of schizophrenia. Behavioral scientists, psychiatrists, child psychologists, and researchers involved in genetics will find this book helpful and informative.",

This book discusses the characteristics, causes, treatment, control, and prevention of this disease. Organized into two parts encompassing 85 chapters, this book begins with an overview of the nature of the problem of tuberculosis. This text then explores the characteristics of tubercle bacillus, which is very resistant and can live for a long time outside the body especially in damp dark places. Other chapters consider the modes of infection and explain how bacillus tuberculosis enters the body by inhalation and by ingestion. This book discusses as well the most dangerous source of infection, namely, a patient with open tuberculosis of the lungs. The final chapter deals with tuberculosis as a useful index of the social and economic conditions of a community. This book is a valuable resource for physicians and scientists.",

The book is divided into two sections. Section I: Before Departure discusses what travelers should do before leaving the country such as medical and dental overhaul, immunization to take, clothes to wear, and medical supplies to bring. Section II: After Arrival focuses on the aspects of maintaining overall health and wellbeing while staying in the tropics. Topics discussed include certain diseases acquired during eating and drinking and bathing in lakes and rivers; protection from insect bites and skin diseases; general rules for healthy living in the tropics; and prevention of malaria. Travelers and settlers in the tropics will find the book invaluable.",
