This book is intended for the student or designer that needs to learn SOLIDWORKS quickly and effectively for senior capstone, machine design, kinematics, dynamics, and other engineering and technology projects that use SOLIDWORKS as a tool. Engineers in industry are expected to have SOLIDWORKS skills for their companys next project. Students need to learn SOLIDWORKS without taking a formal CAD course.\n\nBased on years of teaching SOLIDWORKS to engineering students, SOLIDWORKS 2016 in 5 Hours concentrates on the areas where the new user improves efficiency in the design modeling process. By learning the correct SOLIDWORKS skills and file management techniques, you gain the most knowledge in the shortest period of time.\n\nYou develop a mini Stirling Engine and investigate the proper design intent and constraints. The mini Stirling Engine is based on the external combustion, closed cycle engine of Scottish inventor, Robert Stirling. In addition to 3D modeling, the engine can be used to teach and connect many engineering and physics principles.\n\nYou begin with an overview of SolidWorks and the User Interface (UI), its menus, toolbars and commands. With a quick pace, you learn the essentials of 2D sketching, part and assembly creation, preform motion study, develop detailed part and assembly drawings and much more.\n\nView the provided videos for each section of the book to enhance your experience.\n\nStart a SOLIDWORKS 2016 session\nUnderstand the SOLIDWORKS 2016 Interface\nCreate 2D Sketching, Sketch Planes and use Sketch tools\nCreate 3D Features and apply Design Intent\nCreate an Assembly\nCreate fundamental Drawings Part 1 and Part 2", "author": "David Planchard", "slug": "solidworks-2016-in-5-hours-with-video-instruction-365328-9781630562854-david-planchard", "thumbnail_image": "//redshelf-images.s3-external-1.amazonaws.com/thumbnail/9781585039999.jpg", "default_thumbnail_image": "//redshelf-images.s3-external-1.amazonaws.com/thumbnail/default_book_thumbnail.jpg", "product_type": "book", "product_id": "365328", "product_url": "/app/ecom/book/365328/solidworks-2016-in-5-hours-with-video-instruction-365328-9781630562854-david-planchard", "bisac_codes": [ "COM007000" ], "items_count": null, "identifiers": { "ISBN13": "9781585039999", "ISBN10": "1585039993", "EISBN13": "9781630562854", "EISBN10": "1630562858" }, "drm": null, "cover_image": null, "default_cover_image": null, "book_type": null }, "relationships": { "lowest_offering": { "data": { "type": "offerings", "id": "00010000626783" } } } }, { "type": "Product", "id": "00010000365326", "attributes": { "name": "The Missing Peace", "subtitle": "The Role of Religion in the Arab-Israeli Conflict", "description": "Egypt in the sixties and seventies for the Salem family was a balance between keeping Islamic tradition at home and attending the secular system of public schools, which would provide us with the best of opportunities, and form us into what my parents considered model Muslims. Both traditional Islamic practice and a breadth of scholarship were to be revered, in line with the great Islamic thinkers that always inspired us like Imam Mohamed Abdu and M. Rashid Reda.1\n\nI was first exposed to other cultures and peoples when I traveled on foot and auto-stop on a forty-day journey to Europe in the summer of 1974. I was only fourteen at the time, but that journey taught me many valuable lessons, including the importance of being independent, self-sufficient, relating to others and understanding between cultures and people. That journey to Europe was followed by three more journeys to Europe and the Middle East for the following three summers, before our family emigrated and settled in California in the late seventies. Having lived in three different countries on three different continents, I have had no choice but to consider many different points of view, not only in my own acclimation from Egyptian to American culture, and then to Indian culture and back to American, but in my desire to understand the Middle East conflict at its root. Many of my relatives and friends still reside in Egypt. Therefore, my interest in solving the conflict is both on an ideological and personal level.\n\nMy personal and global journey included study at Berkeley and Stanford universities, after which I established myself in a real estate investment business. I then embarked on a trek to the Indian subcontinent, where I spent some time with the pacifist Muslim Tablighi Jamaat movement and experienced again a taste of wandering, joined with outreach to other Muslims and simplicity in living. My passion for solving the conflicts in the Middle East led me to pursue a masters degree at Yale Divinity School, then a PhD defended at AlAzhar University, Cairo, Egypt, which I was granted in 2015.", "author": "Omer Salem", "slug": "the-missing-peace-365326-9780996592420-omer-salem", "thumbnail_image": "//redshelf-images.s3-external-1.amazonaws.com/thumbnail/9780996592420.jpg", "default_thumbnail_image": "//redshelf-images.s3-external-1.amazonaws.com/thumbnail/default_book_thumbnail.jpg", "product_type": "book", "product_id": "365326", "product_url": "/app/ecom/book/365326/the-missing-peace-365326-9780996592420-omer-salem", "bisac_codes": [ "REL037000", "REL037010" ], "items_count": null, "identifiers": { "ISBN13": "9780996592420", "EISBN13": "9780996592420", "EISBN10": "0996592423" }, "drm": null, "cover_image": null, "default_cover_image": null, "book_type": null }, "relationships": { "lowest_offering": { "data": { "type": "offerings", "id": "00010015184950" } } } }, { "type": "Product", "id": "00010000365324", "attributes": { "name": "Mosaic Reflections: In Poetic Context", "subtitle": "", "description": "Mosaic Reflections: In Poetic Context is an inspirational poetry book. In the process, the positive concept of \"psychosocial wellness\" was developed as discussed in this volume. In it noted scholars address the strengths and limitations of their investigations, citing examples from their work with refugees from Afghanistan, Cambodia, Vietnam, Palestine, Cuba, Nicaragua, Haiti, Eastern Europe, Bosnia, and Chile. The authors discuss how they define \"psychosocial wellness,\" as well as the issues of sample selection, measurement, reliability and validity, refugee narratives and \"voices,\" and the ability to generalize findings and apply these to other populations. The key question that has guided many of these investigations and underlies the premise of this book is \"what happens to an ordinary person who has experienced an extraordinary event?\" This volume also highlights the fact that those involved in such research must also deal with their own emotional responses as they hear victims tell of killing, torture, humiliation, and dispossesion. The volume will therefore appeal to practitioners of psychology, psychiatry, social work, nursing, and anthropology. However, its breadth and the evaluation of the strengths and disadvantages of both qualitative and quantitative methods also make it an excellent text for students.</p>", "author": "Frederick L.
