                "name": "School Mental Health, An Issue of Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Clinics of North America",
                "subtitle": "",
                "description": "This publication promotes school based mental health services as a means for increasing access to care and for early intervention.\nThere are 3 levels of intervention in school-based mental health:\n1. Universal promotion/prevention: Implementing whole-school approaches (including training teachers and administrators) to ensure and foster wellness.\n2. Targeted prevention: Providing prevention services for youth at-risk of developing mental health problems.\n3. Indicated services: Providing assessment and direct care for youth with identified mental health needs.\nThe approach of this Issue presents current evidence-based practice in schools and review of schools as a vital part of systems of care for youth. In addition to psychiatrists, this issue addresses collaboration with families, educators, administrators, social workers, counselors and psychologists.\nThe Editors leading this issue are from Vanderbilt University and University of Maryland. Both Vanderbilt and Maryland have well-established clinical programs that provide a full continuum of mental health services, including \"indicated services\" to serve youth with mental health diagnoses (i.e., severe psychiatric disorders). Psychiatrists are part of the treatment team, and work directly in the school or provide consultation (often via telehealth technologies). Given that family engagement is a major part of making therapies work effectively, partnering with families is a critical part of the treatment process.",

                "description": "This issue will be an informative treatise on gastroparesis, a symptomatic chronic disorder of the stomach characterized by delayed gastric emptying in the absence of mechanical obstruction. Gastroparesis is an increasingly recognized and diagnosed disorder. Treatment can be challenging due to several mechanisms which play a role in causing the symptoms. Symptoms of gastroparesis are variable and include early satiety, nausea, vomiting, bloating, and upper abdominal discomfort. These symptoms can range from mild to severe leading to such complications as malnutrition, functional disability, and multiple hospitalizations. The three most common etiologies are diabetes, post-surgical, and idiopathic (unknown). Treatment consists of dietary manipulation, medical, and surgical therapy. The articles will provide a comprehensive review and in-depth information on gastroparesis. Each chapter will be written by an expert in the area. This issue will give the reader a better appreciation for the breadth of gastroparesis.",

                "description": "APRNs are essential to deliver healthcare in today's complex environment. Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists have met that challenge for over 150 years. Nurse Anesthetists have shifted from the intensive care unit as critical care nurses into the operating room arena. The operating room is an environment that is uniquely challenging. A critical care background is essential to meet these challenges, and all Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists share that experience. The topic; \"Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesia: Critical Care Nursing in the Operating Room\", highlights critical care nursing as it is applied in the operating room setting. Critical care nurses will appreciate the knowledge base that is essential for the anesthetist. As healthcare reform demands greater efficiency, more and more procedures are performed outside the operating room. The line between the Operating Room, ICU and Interventional Radiology will become less defined. Critical care nurses are, and will be more involved in patient care while an anesthetic is administered. It is the goal of this proposed monograph to share knowledge and experience so that ICU nurses will learn more about caring for the anesthetized patient.",
