Three hundred million Americans perished. Mass sterility and gene defects were the seminal events of the war.

The administration turned to genetic ladder engineering to ensure survival. Children deemed unfit were harvested for their organs and summarily dispatched. Those who were fierce and obedient were sent to the Legion to protect the state and preserve internal order.

Gaul, the consummate warrior of the Legion, was born into this world. This is his story as he fights to gain what twenty-first century Americans take for granted. It is a quest for justice in a cruel world that has no respect for the human condition.
",

"description": "Betrayed is a spy fiction thriller centering on a conspiracy by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corp to distribute heroin and cocaine into the United States. The IRGC's purpose is to corrupt the West and provide financing for the Iranian hegemony.

As the plot unfolds, an Iranian defector sends a computer disk detailing the activities of the IRGC to a U.S. Federal Court Judge. When the defector is discovered, the IRGC attempts to retrieve the disk. In the course of retrieval the Judge is murdered by a cleaning staff employee who is herself a Shia immigrant from Columbia. Grabbing the Judge's calendar, she proceeds to a safe house and is deprogrammed. The IRGC concludes the Judge transferred the disk to attorney Jake Mandel, who was his best friend. Mandel is a successful and cynical trial lawyer in Orange County, California.

Against this backdrop, eighteen year old Wally Ovasi, a perfect tool, falls into the hands of the IRGC. His father is a physician, born in Iran of Shiite parents. Coming to America he changes his ethnic identity and passes as an Italian Catholic from Sardinia. He believes that to be an American means to be Christian and western European. He lives and believes in the American dream. Wally discovers his father's Certificate of Naturalization. He questions his own identity and is angered that his father abandoned his Muslim origins and poses as a Christian. Determined to return to his roots, Wally joins a mosque and falls into the manipulative hands of the IRGC. He is molded into a resolute terrorist, committed to the destruction of the United States for perceived wrongs against the Iranian people.

While participating in the bombing of Jake Mandel's office he is apprehended. He discharges his attorney, but does not deny the facts of his conduct. His defense is that he is a Muslim soldier defending the national interest of Iran and therefore cannot be guilty of any crime.

Woven into the plot is the story of Jake Mandel, a lonely and skeptical trial lawyer whose life perspective and role as an unwitting participant in the events allows the reader a direct observation window.

",

                "description": "
Most books hand you answers. This one hands you back to yourself. Over three hundred and sixty-five questions. Twelve months of territory. One full year of learning to trust what is already alive in you.

You have been looking for the right answers.

What if you have been asking the wrong questions?

There is something in you that already knows the way through. Not past. Through.

The problem is not that you lack answers. The problem is that the questions most people ask, the ones offered by well-meaning books, teachers, programs, put the destination outside of you. They make you a student of someone else's knowing.

Socrates never told anyone what to think. He asked until the truth already living in the person had no choice but to surface. He called it midwifery. He was not delivering information. He was delivering a person to themselves.

The Book of Questions follows that tradition. It is one question per day, for one full year, organized across twelve months of soul territory. Not a program. Not a curriculum. A conversation between you and the part of you that has been waiting to be asked.

A year is not a long time.

Unless you spend it honestly.

Each month carries its own theme. Its own territory. The twelve months are not arranged to follow the calendar but to follow the soul, moving through inquiry, identity, grief, belonging, power, forgiveness, and return.

Each day, one question. Sometimes it will feel simple. You will write three words and set it down. On another day, that same style of question will open something you have carried for twenty years and did not know still had weight.

There is no right way to use this book. There is no grade. There is no arriving. There is only the practice of sitting down and allowing yourself to be asked.

You do not have to be broken to need this.

You only have to be honest.

This book was written for people who have grown tired of being told what their healing is supposed to look like.

For the person who has read every self-help book and still feels like something essential remains untouched. For the healer, the therapist, the guide who needs a practice that belongs entirely to them, not their work. For anyone sitting with grief that doesn't fit neatly into a stage or a timeline. For the one who is doing well on the outside and exhausted somewhere much deeper. For the person who knows the answers they are supposed to give, and suspects there are truer ones they have never said aloud. For anyone who has survived something and is still figuring out what that survival is asking of them. For the seeker who is tired of seeking and ready, finally, to simply listen.

Welcome to You.
",

Building Bridges explores the critical role that positive student-teacher relationships play in creating an environment where students feel respected, supported, and motivated to learn.

Drawing from practical classroom experience, educator Brandon Carpenter presents a holistic approach to building meaningful connections with students. Rather than focusing solely on curriculum and instruction, this book emphasizes the human side of education-trust, empathy, communication, and consistency. When teachers intentionally cultivate these elements, they create classrooms where students feel safe to engage, ask questions, and develop confidence in their abilities.

Building Bridges examines why relational teaching matters and how it influences student behavior, classroom culture, and academic performance. Through thoughtful insights and practical strategies, Carpenter encourages educators to see relationship-building as an essential component of effective teaching rather than an optional addition.

Ideal for teachers, education students, school leaders, and anyone interested in improving classroom culture, this book offers a practical and encouraging perspective on the power of connection in education. When educators build bridges with their students, they lay the foundation for deeper learning, stronger engagement, and lasting success both inside and outside the classroom.
",

Jake's convinced a virus he planted in a rival's laptop is the cause of Oshi's disappearance. Jake's beliefs are shaken to their core when he enters the particle transmutation pod from the ENERGENX experiment and drops into the World Wide Web, where he fends off creepy avatars and defies Stone in a battle for his brain. "description": "Discover the most up-to-date information on the forensic neuroscience of violence Forensic Neuroscience and Violence offers a contemporary, rigorous, and comprehensive examination of the intersection of neuroscience, violence, and the law. Drawing on the most current empirical research, this volume explores neurodevelopmental, psychiatric, and neurological conditions and empirically based risk factors associated with violent and sexually violent behavior, while translating complex neuroscientific findings into meaningful forensic and legal applications in the courtroom. Informed by feedback from leading scholars and forensic professionals, the book integrates interdisciplinary perspectives from neuroscience, psychology, psychiatry, and law. Through detailed case examples and relevant caselaw, the book examines the forensic use of neuropsychological assessment and neuroimaging methods within criminal legal proceedings, presenting forensic neuroscience, neurocriminology, and neurolaw in a fundamental, coherent, and practical manner. Particular emphasis is placed on the neuroanatomy of brain dysfunction in both juvenile and adult offender populations, and on how these impairments relate to violence and the specific forensic legal questions posed to experts. Authored by John Matthew Fabian, PSY.D., J.D., ABPP, a nationally recognized expert in forensic psychology and neuropsychology, this work integrates decades of clinical, forensic, and courtroom experience. Dr. Fabian provides a meticulous analysis of neuropsychological and neuroscientific risk factors for violence and aggression, demonstrating how these findings inform forensic mental health assessment, expert testimony, and the law. Forensic Neuroscience and Violence is an essential resource for professionals in forensic neuropsychology, forensic psychology, forensic psychiatry, and neurocriminology, as well as for attorneys, judges, graduate students, researchers, and academics working at the intersection of neuroscience and the criminal justice system. It will also earn a valued place in the libraries of those working in violence and sexual violence risk assessment, criminal behavior and neurocriminology, developmental psychopathology, social work, addiction and dual-diagnosis, and related disciplines.",
